Why can't I see the AirPlay icon from my iOS device?

One reason could stem from using an Actiontec router. (Verizon FIOS service) Whenever these routers are updated, it enables their IGMP Proxy setting which closes communication with AirPlay.

To correct this, access the router's menu and select Advanced. Then, disable the "IGMP Proxy" and select Save. Once this is done, please power cycle the Denon device and reboot the router as this will reestablish network communication. Once the network communication is reestablished, the AirPlay icon should populate in your iOS device's iTunes / Music application.
